FMCG/Retail

Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), also known as consumer packaged goods (CPG), are products that are sold quickly and at a relatively low cost. Examples include non-durable household goods such as packaged foods, beverages, toiletries, candies, cosmetics, over-the-counter drugs, dry goods, and other consumables.

The main differences between FMCG & retail in the businesses I have worked in are; FMCG are the manufacturer of the products to the retailer and retail are the sellers to the end consumers, thus both businesses are part of the end to end chain.

Fast-moving consumer goods include packaged food, toiletries, beverages, stationery, over-the-counter medicines, cleaning and laundry products, plastic goods, personal care products, as well as less expensive consumer electronics, such as mobile phones and headphones.
